Most Chinese users may not feel confused. Some users do not like certain transliterated names. When they mention a character, they will directly use the English name or may refer to the paraphrase of this character.

Here's an example of a conversation I have seen between users:“现在chronos gem stories的boss很多都被削弱了。凯纳老版本蓄力斩击15滴血。突刺是10滴血。早川(hayagane)最初的狙击射击狂暴前7滴血。狂暴后9滴血。而最初的Shigure的第二阶段大招有足足恐怖的45滴血。相当于可以直接把凯纳和吹雪一下打死。”
It means:"Now many bosses in Chronos Gem Stories have been weakened. Kaina's old version charged slash dealt 15 damage. The stab dealt 10 damage. Hayagane's initial sniper shot dealt a furious 7 damage before going berserk. After going berserk, it dealt 9 damage. And in the old version of Shigure, his second phase ultimate attack had a terrifying 45 damage. That's equivalent to being able to directly kill Kaina and Fubuki in one hit."

Hello.
If the same person sends two translations for one text and those are very similar, like you mention, I'll basically adopt the latter one.
But if they do it 5 times or correct 100 texts afterwards, I can't handle it. If they do that, I won't be able to use my time for making games and just waste my time to check their translations.

So what I mentioned on another thread is for people who are too detail-oriented or careless.
I appreciate the users' help, but I'd like them to proofread and revise their translations before they post it.

If a new translation comes from other person and those translations are very similar, I can't choose because I don't know the grammar of the language and it may just be a matter of personal preference.

Hello, I know that it is important to not send repeated translations, but I have a question: what to do when a previously submitted translation is good, but has some errors? (for example: capitalization and/or accents missing)

What I mean is that I searched online for some character names.

There may be many rules for translating Japanese names into Chinese. I depends on whether these names have Chinese translations elsewhere. If not, I will transliterate them.

What do you mean by "I looked up some information"?
You mean you checked the translation in the translation project webpage?

I actually change all the names of characters, places, etc into symbols in the program. It's useful for the setting of changing those names.
That's one of the reasons which I told you that you don't have to change all your translations after you change the character names. If I change one valus for a name, all the texts in the program will be changed.
In addition, if there are two or more translators and they use different character names in their translations, it's not good to unify those names in the project page because some names might be from other translators.
So even if you find "天音" or something in the texts in the translation project webpage, it doesn't appear in the game.

Also, it seems that you don't understand what I mean.
If you say all the character names should be based on the meanings, then other names should be also changed.
For example, sorry but I use "Japanese Chinese characers", 凯纳 should be 腕 (arm), 托巴里 should be 帳 (curtain), 西瓦布基 should be 咳 (cough), etc. I'm not sure those "new" names sound better or not in the chinese language, but if you say there should be a specific rule, we have to change much more names in the game from now.
Character names are important to understand the story. If those names change often, the users will be definitely confused. That's why I don't want to change character names easily.

About 横纲, probably I just forgot to change it in the game. I'll fix it at the next update.

I looked up some information. Then I found out that many Japanese names are translated into Chinese in a paraphrase.
I found translations for some of the names of Chronos Gem Stories. Here are the names with Chinese translations. I hope you will adopt them.
“Amane” The one I found translates as "天音".
“Konoha” The one I found translates as "木叶".
“Amatsu” The one I found translates as "天津".
“Momoka” The one I found translates as "桃香"
“Okura” The one I found translates as "大仓".
“Fubuki” The one I found translates as "吹雪".
“Honekawa” The one I found translates as "骨川".

There is also a question about "Yokozuna". Its translation is "横纲". But it shows "约科兹纳" in the game.

Thank you for your hard work.

I'll leave the character names up to votes since there is not clear standard. Some names are translated by pronunciation and some by meaning. Unless there is a compelling reason, I think changing names would be more confusing for the users.
I'd appreciate your understanding.

Now I'm basically done fixing some glaring translation errors in Chronos Gem Stories. After that, if there are no other problems. I don't usually change the translated text of this game anymore.

Re^21: A problem Name:Mine Date:2025/06/23(Mon) 09:34:27 No.31

I searched the spelling just now and found that actually "Focaccia" is correct.
I'm not sure why I chose "Focazzia", but I'll fix the texts, not the map image.

About repeated posts Name:Mine Date:2025/06/23(Mon) 09:08:56 No.30

Recently, some people have been posting multiple different translations of the same text.
Basically I can't decide which one is better.

So if I check the machine translation and find that those meanings are almost the same or there are only literary differences, I wait for others to vote, just like with other people's submissions, to decide which translation to adopt.
