Hello, maybe my English is not good. I recently changed the translation of character names because I felt that I didn't translate them well. So do I need to change the old character names in all the previously translated content to new character names? Thank you for answering my question.
Hello, thank you so much for your everyday hard work! I really appreciate your help.
You don't have to change the old character names in the quotes because I'll unify them when I transcribe the translation into the game.
Thank you for your concern!
Thank you for answering my question.
In the Chinese translation of Come on 285 enemies! , Haniwan's words are translated into classical Chinese. So, do I also need to translate it into classical Chinese in other games?
Oh, I didn't notice it. Maybe that's the translator's intention.
At least Haniwan speaks modern Japanese in the original sentences.
When the same character appears in multiple games, I make sure to use the same wording for them. However, when it comes to translation, since there are many translators participating in the translation project, I don't expect uniformity in wording. Either way, I can't verify it.
So it's up to you. In particular, in Haniwan's case, there is no need to use classical language, as the original Japanese text is not in classical language.
I'm not sure if all the text for Chronos Gem Stories has been translated. There are too many texts. Please check if there are any missing untranslated texts. thank you.
Thank you so much for your hard work!
I'm now trying to make the Chinese version of Chronos Gem Stories, but there are so many texts and I'll release the next chapter on this coming Friday. I'm not sure if I can make it to this Friday or not. I'll try my best.
I think all the texts are already translated. Even if there are one or two texts that are not yet translated, I'll use machine translation for the first release of the Chinese version.
The bigger issue is the texts for the new chapter because I can't reveal those texts before the release of the chapter so that I have to use machine translator.
I'd appreciate if you could check and fix the translation of the next chapter after the release if you have a chance.
I recently discovered that there were many errors in the Chinese translation I provided for Chronos Gem Stories, so now I am starting from scratch again.
Sorry for taking up a lot of your time.
Thank you so much for your help!
I have to use machine translator when I release a new chapter because I can't publicise the quotes in the chapter beforehand.
So I need the users' help to fix the translation.
I'll check your translation and apply it to the game. Wait a little bit!
It seems that you are revising a lot of texts, but does it mean the new ones better, or there are some options?
If the latter, I can't choose one of them because I can't speak Chinese.
If the former, does it mean your old translation is not very good? I haven't released the Chinese version yet and now I'm applying your old translation to this game. But if you revise a lot of texts this soon, my work will be waste and I can't release the Chinese version forever.
If you think your old translation is not good, I won't release the Chinese translation soon and I'll wait for finishing your revise. Maybe I should wait for it until the end of this year?
And please post your translation after revising.
Perhaps you should first apply the text I previously translated to this game. After all, you have already started applying it now. You can start applying the revised translation to the game after adding the Chinese translation.
In future translation projects, I will definitely carefully translate the text before submitting it.
So you mean those new translations are revised ones, not the options?
If someone posts two texts for the same quote, I basically choose the newer one because it's usually just a minor revision like misspelling. But if there are over 200 revisions, I'm not sure if I should adopt their translation. In those cases, maybe I should wait a month or two and see they completely fix their translation instead adopting immediately. Otherwise not only I but the users will be confused because the translation changes frequently.
Anyway, thank you for understanding. I'll release the chinese translation on schedule.
I just provided the remaining text for Moonlight Filghts. Now there should only be Breezy Rogue left without Chinese translation in the translation project. Some applications without Chinese translation do not have a translation interface provided for them in the translation project.
Breezy Rogue, like Chronos Gem Stories, is a big translation project. I think you are currently very busy. So, should I start translating Breezy Rogue when you have completed the Chinese translation of Chronos Gem Stories?
Hi, thank you for your hard work!
I checked your translation and removed some of them because it seemed to be different from the original sentences.
Win Comment4 in section #1 in page #2
Actually the English translation was weird. I fixed the English text.
Win Comment6 in section #2 in page #2
I'd translate it like "I thought so, but so what?" but someone translated it in the current way in English. I'm not sure which one is better.
"Moonlight Fighters" is a very old game and I translated it when my English was so poor. So actually I'm not satsified with many of the English texts I translated.
Anyway if you post the two texts above again, I'll release the Chinese translation soon.
There are Chinese translation pages for almost all my games. You can find them if you go to the top page of the translation project web page. So you can post your translation for any games if you'd like to have Chinese translation.
Am I busy? Yes, I've been super busy lately. And unfortunately I'll be much busier from maybe next month because of my private matter, and it'd continue for a year or two. I'm not sure how much time I'll be able to have to make or maintain my games.
So you can post Chinese translation anytime, but I might put it on hold to release, or even check, the translation.
If you don't mind it, and if you have a chance, I'll be happy if you'd translate my games anytime.
I really don't know how to translate some names. Should it be translated directly or transliterated?
For example, "Kizahashi". It is a food name in Japan. But it doesn't seem to have a Chinese name. I can only transliterate it as "基扎哈西"
So should I translate names directly or transliterate it?
I don't know either. I think there is no correct answer about it. I can say that it just depends on people's preferences. So I basically leave it up to the translators.
"Kizahashi" means "stairs" in old Japanese. So if you want to base thair names on meaning, maybe 阶, the previous idea of yours, can be a nearer choice.
For me, it'd be better to translate characters names based on the sounds because that way people who speak different languages can talk about the same character easily.
"Hey, what do you think about the last quote of Edmond?" "Who's that? Are you talking about 'Ben-Qui-Pee'?" This kind of talk will be confusing.
If their names have special meanings that are relevant to the understanding of the story, another way can be options. But at least in "Chronos Gem Stories", their Japanese names have little to do with their characteristics, but not very important. So if I were to translate it, I'd base the sounds, pronunciations. In that sense, I prefer your current translation like "基扎哈西".
In Stick of Titan. The translation suggestion for the text with ID usage43_icon0 was not approved. Is this ID a waste manuscript?
There is also a text with ID stage78-button. Its translation is' 始祖 '. What can be displayed in the game is' 成立 '. I hope you can fix it.
Thank you for pointing it out.
About usage43_icon0, it's just not marked. I marked it now.
About stage78_button, I don't know why it happened, but I'll fix it at the next update.
Why doesn't the Translation Project have a translation interface for Sorairo Garden?
I've already stopped publishing Sorairo Garden because there were only a few users there and the maintenance cost was high since it's an online game.
I think I've removed the links to that game a few years ago. Is there still a link somewhere?
In voltage RPG.
The name of the country in the southwest corner of the map is Focaccia. And in the translated text. The name of the country is Focazza.
So is there any reason for this?
I didn't notice it.
That's just my mistake. Actually I completely forgot there was country names on the map image, so I forgot to check it even when I checked the texts.
I'll try to fix it, but I might not be able to fix it because this game is very old and I'm not sure if I still have the same font of the country names.
Anyway thank you for pointing it out.
I searched the spelling just now and found that actually "Focaccia" is correct.
I'm not sure why I chose "Focazzia", but I'll fix the texts, not the map image.
