Ochaduke (サンマ)

This is ochaduke. Ochaduke is a bowl of rice soaking in tea, and in Japan “tea” usually means green tea. Modern ochaduke commonly has some toppings like cut seaweed, arare (snack like fried mochi), salmon, etc.

If you ask “what do you want to eat right now?” to Japanese people who have traveled abroad for a long time or got back to Japan for the first time in a while, many people would answer “Ochaduke!”.
